Why did you join SMPS? I joined SMPS because I wanted to improve my social media marketing skills and not let networking just be a buzzword in my vocabulary.

What is the most important thing you’ve gained from joining SMPS?
As a new member of the SMPS I can see how membership will help to grow my marketing skills with access to networking opportunities, resources and people.

How did you get into the A/E/C industry?
I started out in the project closeout phase for Dade School projects.  Then over the last years as a free-lancer I transitioned into office management followed by business development and marketing.

What excites you about your work and the contribution you make?
The business environment is changing and with change comes an opportunity to innovate and learn through experience.  It’s also exciting to see the tangible results of my marketing efforts.

What is one thing that might surprise people to know about you?
I am a certified scuba diver that loves heart-pounding extreme adventures like fast roller coasters, zip lining, cliff diving, off-roading and water sports.

If you could learn anything what would it be?
I would love to learn how to play a musical instrument, perhaps the electric guitar or drums.

What is the last book (or newspaper, magazine) you read?
This is a loaded question because I’m always reading articles, blogs, etc. so it’s difficult to pinpoint the last one.

What is your favorite book or movie and why?
One of my favorite movies is Avatar, the epic movie by James Cameron.  Not only is this film brilliant for its technical advancements and innovative special effects, but because it is an action-adventure journey of self-discovery. It awakens your conscience to think about the way we interact with nature, how we react to cultural differences and how we treat each other.

When you were little, who was your favorite superhero and why?
I don’t remember having a favorite superhero growing up but if I have to pick one then Wonder Woman is my choice. She embodies beauty, compassion, wisdom and strength.

How do you enjoy your free time?
I love to travel with my two young adult children and with good friends.  A weekend getaway, a beach resort stay or simply a "staycation" are always at the top of the list whenever I can carve out some free time.  I also like to go out dancing – Soca and Salsa are my favorites.
