It has allowed me to make great professional connections. It’s very valuable to talk with others in our industry to understand how they may do things differently and potentially learn from them.

SMPS: How did you get started with your career?
started out as a Sales & Marketing Coordinator for a lighting manufacturer. I knew that I wanted to focus on marketing and always had an interest in construction, so when the opportunity came along to get into this industry with marketing, I jumped at it.

SMPS: Are you interested in seeking CPSM certification; and if so, how do you expect it to benefit you?
Not at this time.

SMPS: What excites you about your work and the contribution you make?
Knowing that I'm part of a collaborative team that truly cares and has integrity in the work we do. It’s always exciting and rewarding to win projects that you have put so much time and effort into, and then be able to see them come to life as they are built.

SMPS: What is the best communications/marketing advice you've ever received?
Don't rush through your work and never assume anything.

SMPS: Pretend you're a CEO. What three concerns about the firm's future keep you up at night?
How do we continue to stay on top of our game as a leading contractor.

Increase our visibility and local presence to bring in more opportunities for business.

Develop and maintain a great team of people that help retain the culture of the company and prevent turnover.

SMPS: What's your favorite moment of your career so far?
When I was offered to join Turner Construction.

SMPS: What was your childhood dream job?
TV/Film director.

SMPS: If you could visit anywhere in the world you have never been, where would you go?

SMPS: What was your first real job?
Lighting technician for a stage production company.

SMPS: What is your favorite family tradition?
Christmas, going to church on Christmas eve and being together with family on Christmas morning.
